With the new DDR5 technology slowly replacing the aging DDR4 technology, the next generation of processors has adopted the new standard of DDR5 technology as it has allowed the entry of high-performance RAM kits to enter the market and the latest DDR5 Technology has been adopted by Intel’s 14th Gen Meteor Lake processors such as the Core I9 14900K processor. In anticipation of the new flagship processors, G.Skill has launched its all-new high-end Trident Z5 lineup which is aimed at dedicated enthusiasts who like to squeeze out all of the performance from their components.
The G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB line-up as the name suggests features integrated RGB which can be controlled and customized by the user as per their liking. It also adds extra aesthetics to the overall gaming setup especially if it is using a windowed casing that can showcase the RGB of the G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB. In terms of design, the G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB series managed to retain the overall theme of the Trident series as the design still has the fin incorporated and the heat spreaders are made out of aluminum which sports a two-toned color theme in black and white, making them look quite elegant.
In terms of measurements, the G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB measures 42mm in vertical height along with its heat spreader which is available in either metallic matte black or metallic silver as per the choice of the user. As this variant features RGB as the name suggests, it also features a translucent bar which can be found on top of the memory module which is exclusive to the RGB variant. As discussed earlier, the RGB lighting is controlled by the user through the Trident Z Lighting Control software which can be downloaded or installed through the provided CD.
The Trident Z5 RGB is available in different capacities and different memory clock frequencies. As per our test unit, our RAM kit was able to run at DDR5-4800 MHz with the latency timings being 40-40-40-76, once the XMP profile was enabled, it was able to run at a memory clock frequency of 6000 MHz with the timings being 36-36-36-76 at a DRAM voltage of 1.3V, providing exceptional performance across the board.
With the RAM technology steadily upgrading and moving onto the new improved standard such as the DDR5 from its former DDR4 standard, G.Skill has released their Ripjaws S5 RAM kits which have adopted the DDR5 technology and are aimed at enthusiasts that desire high-performance from their components. It also comes with a lifetime warranty limited warranty which further shows that G.Skill has a lot of faith in their RAM kits which are manufactured whilst keeping quality and reliability at the core of their heart. With the release of the new Intel’s Meteor Lake 14th generation processors such as the Intel Core i9 14900K, it is of utmost importance for gamers to pair the absolute best RAM kits with a flagship processor to utilize all available performance.
